The last 2.5 years we’ve been involved with Spankwagon we can say has been nothing short of a learning experience. Not only from a technical perspective, but in terms of creating interesting content, and even more so working as a team. Because of that we’ve had a lot of amazing opportunities during that time, including taking over Spankwagon as a whole.
During these past few months a lot of the other activities that have presented themselves due to the Wagon have been taking up more of our time. Along with that trying to build the Wagon up to bigger things has been more of a challenge than previously thought. Not to mention that all of us have full time jobs.
Recently I really had to think where to best put our energies. We’ve looked at this from multiple angles to determine what would be the best balance. But in the end there were some limitations we had to accept.
So with that it is with deep regret that we must say goodbye.
This is not to say that we will go gently into the good night. You will hear from us again and experience some really awesome material. Keep an eye out on the Interwebs to find out what we’re going to be up to next.
The website will stay up at least through July of next year. And the current plan is to move all of the video content to YouTube so those will be available after the site goes poof.
I have a bunch of people to thank. If I miss people, I apologize.
To John Henderson and the rest of the people at IGDA Austin for having us come out and cover their events. Even if we did inquire about the color of people’s underwear.
To David Kaelin, Tien Phan, and the rest of the staff at Game Over Videogames for letting us come film their events along with hosting interviews there.
To the Descendants of Erdrick: Amanda Lepre, Lauren Liebowitz, John Pike, Chris Taylor, and Mike Villalobos. I can honestly say that if we had never met these five awesome individuals our lives would be very different.
To Ryan ‘fubarduck’ Harvey for allowing us to sponsor a tournament at Arcade UFO.
To Brandon Hood for getting us involved with his Chiptunes = Win project. So what if I did get salsa all over the kitchen?
To Mike Boudreau and the rest of the staff at Red Eyed Fly for being awesome and letting us film at their venue.
To Jen Borland and Major Hoffman for getting us involved with The Last Ones and being awesome in general. Really looking forward to see what these two can do.
To Mistress Rowynn, Dr. Benway, Joe Lawless, Ericaisfine, Mikey V PCP, and Markoleptic for being awesome to hang out with when we’d come to Vegas.
To Chief, Decaf, and Murphy for accepting us into the Spankwagon family.
To Airmattress and Brue. Without these two guys there’s no way in hell any of this could have been pulled off. And life would be more boring without them.
And finally… To Trencher. Just for giving us a chance.
For those who have enjoyed listening and watching Spankwagon, we really do appreciate it.
As always… DRINK BITCHES!
